ARTners 4 Special Kids

Is a scheme of fun sensory art workshops for all special needs and mainstream children & young people in and around Scarborough and Ryedale.

The workshops are deeply beneficial both educationally and theraputically, but most of all absolute fun! Artners enables not only the kids but their parents, carers and/or siblings to express themselves, relieving their inner frustrations in the splat studio.

We have no barriers on age or severity of special needs, allowing each individual to express themselves and their inner thoughts, emotions and frustrations in a relaxed, creative environment.

ARTners4Special Kids was established by a well known voluntary artist working alongside various children's trusts, such as Ryedale Special Families, for their voluntary work with special young people and their families and also the Wilf Ward Trust Homes.

Using many different materials and techniques, we aim to satisfy many emotional needs, channelling them into creativity through their senses.

As a parent of a young person with physical and emotional needs, their experience is vast in the area of special needs, creativity and satisfaction of emotional outlet for both the child and the parent/carer.

We have wet and dry workshops which are fabulous for offloading inner anxieties and frustrations, enabling paint to be launched usually on to a canvas or sometimes at whom or whatever may be in its path!
